Planning Your Home Gym

Posted by Karen Somerville on 2021-12-01

Andrew wanted a room that he would actually feel motivated by. His design team, led by real estate and renovation expert Scott McGillivray had all the answers! Then they powered it with fitness equipment and accessories from Spartan Fitness.

Even utilitarian rooms need a little personality. Along with the murals, Scott's team added a storage unit with space for accessories – both functional and decorative. “You’re always going to need somewhere to put water bottles, towels, maybe a plant or photo frame. So give yourself an area where you can add those personal touches.” It’s also wise to include hooks for hanging mats and other accessories, and baskets for yoga mats and the like. “A gym is by nature a busy looking room because of all the equipment, so make sure you have somewhere to store all your accessories.”

A home gym is a great idea in theory, but to get the benefits, you actually have to use it!
